Time…Spoken by Sir Lawrence Olivier…

Posted by carolom on June 24, 2008

TIME…..
Some of the most instructional words regarding the power of our Thoughts and their impact on every day life that have ever been written…spoken so eloquently by Sir Lawrence Olivier in the musical “Time”...

…take a few moments to really listen to what he is telling us and celebrate the serious wonder of such influence we have on our personal Reality, simply by what we think about…

Lyrics are included below…

~ The Theme from TIME ~

Stand before me on the Sign of Infinity all you of the Earth.
With the granting of the “Law of Probenation”
comes the application of change.
I will give you the key.
And with this knowledge, please realize,
comes the responsibility of sharing it.
I will show you the way (it’s very simple).

Throughout the Universe there is order.
In the movement of the planets…in nature…
and in the functioning of the human mind.
A mind that is in its natural state of order
is in harmony with the Universe,
and such a mind is timeless.
Your life is an expression of your mind.
You are a creator of your own Universe,
for as a human being you are “free to will”
whatever state of being you desire through the use of your thoughts and words.

There is great Power there.

It can be a blessing or a curse.

It’s entirely up to you, for the quality of your life
is brought about by the quality of your thinking.
Think about that.

Thoughts produce actions.
See the pettiness and the envy and the greed and the fear
and all the other attitudes that cause you pain and discomfort.
Realize that the one thing you have absolute control over is your attitude.
See the effect that it has on those around you,
for each life is linked to all Life and your words carry with them chain reactions like a stone that has been thrown into a pond.
If your thinking is in order, your words will flow directly from the heart,
creating ripples of love.

If you truly want to change your world, my friends,
you must change your thinking.
Reason is your greatest tool.
It creates an atmosphere of understanding which leads to caring which is Love. Choose your words with care.
Go forth….with Love.

  1. Chaos tends to govern and have a tremendous effect on our lives but the truth is that there is order in the universe and we need to “be still” so as to experience the fullness of tranquility that maximizes our potential.

I have the 45 single of this for the last 20 years. I wrote down the words and put them into a scroll. That scroll has been on my wall and passed onto as many people that I could share it with ever since.
I strive to live by this passage and it gives me great joy. I believe this to be the message of life, did the writer have any idea what an impact it would have. Trust me to live my life by a piece from the theatre. Thank you for putting this on the web, I have feared loosing my single and have been unable to play it and I miss his voice so. I tell friends to try and hear it in his voice, now I can direct them here.

One of the most simple and profound message. It will require to be listened several times to begin to understand it. It will require even more time to analize and see if I am applaying this principles in my daily life. Powerful.

This is the basis for what most nobles have said throughout history. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. But one must watch these words and feel them within.

In this time of global economical, personal, and professional chaos, it is time again to remember this momentous piece Sir Lawarence delivered. Whether he truly believed it when he delivered it, is not at issue. What is at issue is the importance of a sound mind and spirit in an extremely chaotic time. These words bring comfort in the storm, light in the darkness, and a raison d’etre for the inbetween.

    God Bless.

Caveat – Change the lense through which you perceive what is really happenning – if what you are doing is not working – just change the lense – eventually, you will be able to see again – and then you will know your next steps-

Take very gentle care of you – you are the only you that exists in this universe – you are special beyond measure – never, ever throw that away.

You ARE a GIFT! You are UNIQUE! You are SPECIAL BEYOND MEASURE – BEYOND TIME. Thank you for being you and for being born.

      Mahalo!

DanĂka, my daughter memorized this passage before she was a teenager. She is now 24 and still is very connected to it. “Time” has a very special place in our hearts to our family.

Gayle, You appear to us to be a chrysalis at last unfolding her wings.

To the author of this website: Thanks for posting “Time”. It deserves to be shared.

Theme from Time is indeed a thought provoking narration by Sir Laurence Olivier (written by Dave Clark). I just completed an upload onto YouTube with my visions of what is said. Thanks .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXPp1rD52ZA

What is true, is the truth that you preserve within yourself! Our Minds are our most powerful tools, yet can become our enemies in times of confusion and persuasion! Is it not said that to live, one must first die to understand the true meaning of life! Why
then do we allow our minds to not control our hearts when all our hearts desire is love and is love not the greatest evolution of all time, so live, laugh and love, for this is our only one life we have been granted. Love is pure and love is kind, love does not deceive nor is it filled with greed or hatred, love can only love

Thank you, newsferret, for posting this as your 2013 New Years Wish for those of us lucky enough to visit your site. And, thank you carolom, for posting this wonderful message.

  24. Most truthful words spoken. I just wrote a post along the same lines. About ” All that I am”. About letting go of the things that matter not, and embracing the child within that needs to be free at times. And incorporate it into one’s life. I like the prose on this site.
